Cotton mill

Family Loft in Avelgem.
Something blue, old and new.

An old cotton mill housed by pigeons turned into a family home.

We restored the interior to its former glory in terms of materials, while installing contemporary living comfort. We’ve connected the kitchen and living area into an open space with a soft pink floor. The intens blue kitchen and storage room contrasts with the warmer terracotta tones of the ceiling.

We’ve embraced the aesthetic chapters of the space while adding a vibrant typology of colours, vintage materials and tactility. With hours of research into old materials, we’ve found vintage ceramic tiles for the floors, transformed an old milk jug into a sink and reused old elements. Our spatial interventions reveal a poetry of unexpected architectural schemes and honest details.
